New member, forum access.
 

I received the attached message from a new member who is having problems accessing the forum. I don't have the answer. Maybe from your own experience can you help? Thanks, Rich

I suspect he's having the same problem I (and another) was having a year ago. While I thought I was signed up as a full member I wasn't; as such I was only granted limited access.

It turned out that this site wouldn't accept members using a Hotmail account. I switched to using my smartphone account (gmail) and problems resolved.

Just a thought.

go to the e-mail they sent you and click on the information sent it worked for me good luck Joel

If any new members have had trouble getting full privileges on the forum and have resolved the problem, please reply as to how you were able to fix the issue. It will help others in getting their privileges.

I, as a forum moderator, do not have the access to help anyone out with their problems. I can block spammers, move and delete posts, etc. but cannot do anything with member accounts.

The problem seems to stem from gmail email accounts.

If you are trying to use a gmail account, please try another email.

Nope, that's backwards. I was unable to establish an account using HOTMAIL. Once I switched to my GMAIL account things worked (and continue to work) as they should.

Hi Rich, I am the person you were helping at the start of this post. I tried a new email account, did not work. I tried 2 more email accounts, no luck. My DW said to try it from the start. I restarted the process, to sign up as a new member, used the same hotmail account,as the 1st time around, and it worked! Must be my lucky wife! Glad it worked, really has helped in getting the Hi-Lo ready to go.
