Question Newbie needs advice on buying, etc.

My wife and I decided to get an RV trailer and after looking and researching a bunch of different TT's we ran across HiLo's and decided this is what we want to get. We found a 12 year old one we like at a dealer but they are asking more than double the NADA price. It looks to be in pretty good shape but for sure needs new caulking everywhere. My credit union said they won't finance more and my insurance company won't insure it for more either. Both say not to buy at such an inflated price. The dealer says it's a high demand item, blah, blah, blah. This is not the only dealer around here asking way over book price with the same song and dance. Yet these units have been on the lot for at least 3 months. What is up with these dealer prices. Private party prices are much closer to the NADA price. Now that we know what kind of HiLo we want we haven't been able to find what wanted from a private party.
Any thoughts on the huge price difference? What to do?

Expand your travel distance to find one. Here in California, it took me 3 years to find one in my price range and distance I wanted to travel (we were looking to upgrade). Good Luck

I would only pay over NADA if they were in exceptionally good condition. Those are not the only Hi-Lo trailers left in the world. Go elsewhere and look.
