Thanks for all the advice. I got a hose clamp, the pump will shut off when the faucets are turned off. The hot water heater works! We are well on our way to figuring all this out!

Thanks Jack. The pump pumps water when I turn on the switch with the faucets open. But when I closed the facets, the cap on the end of an extra (?) line near the pump popped off when the pressure...

Is my water pump supposed to turn off automatically when we are not using water? Or do I need to turn it on and off manually?
