Most or many of the Classic models were 100". I doubt if any lawman is interested in the width of a travel trailer. He has bigger fish to catch.

Added note: Add on another 4" for the awning.

I have never heard anything about the width restriction. I would say that applies to commercial vehicles, but I don't know about RV's. A can see where certain roads may have width restrictions just...
