The backing of the tape is like vinyl. Nothing sticks to it. The coating will peel off. But no biggie. The tape is white and does not need a coating. It is very sticky.

I have used the Dicor RPMRC1 Elastomeric Metal RV Roof Coating and it is cheapest and it did work. It is the only one I ever tried. Dont put it on when cold though, it may work, but may peel later....
