Selling HiLo
I don't believe this trailer is 1/2 ton towable. Know the tongue wt. and the weight of the trailer. Then add people and gear. It will pull. Stopping is the problem. Submitted with all due respect.

Agree with sam. I think that trailer should be towed with a 3/4 ton truck or better due to tongue weight. Of more concern to me is the weight from the trailer on the tow vehicle's axles.

I have logged more than 15K miles with this trailer towing with a Ram 1500 ecodiesel with a fuel mpg of 16.7 and have never had any problems with tongue weight or stopping...It tows like a dream. Max GVW for the trailer axles is 7000#

Any pic’s available?

Brian - I know you can PULL a trailer that size using a 1/2 ton pickup. And, the GVWR of 7000# on the trailer axles makes sense, because it has two 3500# axles in tandem.
The axle rating I am concerned with is the one in your tow vehicle - the Ram 1500. If you were to weigh your truck with the trailer connected on a CAT scale, I'd bet you'd find the weight being supported by each of your truck's axles exceeds the GAWR that you'd find on a sticker inside your truck's driver's door. But, you can certainly drive around with that weight limit exceeded, until something breaks. And then, you might find yourself somewhat dead, depending on how fast you were traveling. - Jack |
I had a previous 22 footer but it was too small for my family which has three adults. I can’t find a floor plan for a 2807C on line. I think this has the rear bedroom. Is the bed running the long way or cross-wise in the trailer? Is the couch the tip-out or a slide-out like the 31C.
Thanks, Tim Peterson |
I agree with Jack! My HiLo is a 25 footer Classic and my Ram 1500 struggles quite a bit; especially uphill.
|
Angel....What engine does your Ram have? I have the Ecodiesel...no problem passing trucks and other cars going up hill...
|
Tmjbp...The 28C has the bed going width wise in the back of the trailer...The tip out has a couch that makes a bed...

Brianagee,
For sure your Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has way more power to tow/pull than my small V8 (5.2 Magnum) Ram 1500; I know I'm waaay under powered!! I don't push it or rush it too much, so I've been lucky so far. I've had a couple of hair raising experiences on the freeway where my 2589 HiLo Classic wants to overpower my Ram 1500!. Under powered, and with an older Ram 1500?...Yep that's me!!...But like Jack said; something Will give or break with either an under powered or under specs tow vehicle, I hope it's not me! lol. |
Do you still have the Hi-Lo 2807C for sale?
|
DRS>>>>>Yes I do...and I am lowering the price to $10,000...send me a email address for pics....
