Default Looking for 28 foot Hi_Lo

Want to find 28 foot Hi-Lo in good condition in some proximity to NW Washington state. Definite preference for one with a sofa tip-out (don't know how many years they go back). Will consider one as old as about 12 years if it has been well cared for and is free of leaks, good tires, etc. While I am very capable with tools, I am not interested in a "handy man" special. Thanks. Raymond B.

Welcome to the forum. rvtrader.com and oodle.com are a couple of good places to look. Happy hunting.

Thanks for the contact. You are right--it is a pretty fur distance and I would have to consider a good deal of travel expense just to look at your rig, that is, if you are selling it. I like your member ID. I am about 80 (and 3/4s) and my wife 75. So, I guess we are in the same "boat", er, trailer. There seem to be a fair number of Hi-Lo's in the Mid West and the East but not too many in the Western parts. Bummer! I will look in the "For Sale" section of this forum and if you have a listing, I will study it despite the distance. Thank again. Ray B.

Thanks for the welcome and the tips about RVt and Oodle. I have looked at RVt quite a few times and they have had (I emphasize "have had") some very good offers but most were awfully far away and/or too expensive. It appears that $15,000 is a common ball park or mainstream price but, added to the distances away (1500 to 2000 miles) the cost gets too high.

I haven't tried Oogle that I recall so I will jump in there and see what I can find. Thanks so much for the tips. Ray B

Default Buying a HiLo

Your most economical price would be from a private buyer. Welcome to the forum.

Hi, Thanks for the notice about your 33 footer. I would be very interested except that I just purchased a Jeep, Grand Cherokee Overlander with a V8 engine. I am assured it will tow a 28 foot Hi-Lo but 33 feet (plus the tongue length?) is over the manufacturer's recommended limit (30 ft.). Bummer! I shoulda gotta Pickup. Despite that, just so you know, I clicked on the website in Kent that says they are selling your RV but could not find any reference to it.

Hi Raymond,
The 28' in Wisconsin is not ours, but it is listed at the camping center in Wisconsin which is also a Hi-Lo dealer. We purchased our first Hi-Lo there. Our Oldyweds name is also our geocache name! Good luck in your Hi-Lo search.
Oldyweds (even though we are in our 60's)!!

The early part of 2014 we bought our 27T from Johnson RV in Sandy Oregon. I don't know if they are still in business but if so, I'm sure they would place you on a "watch list" for what you are looking for. (503) 668-5400.

Dawalt871, Hi. I just now saw your note for the first time. I am really interested but, of course, need some details like, what year is it and asking price, does it have a tip-out, any photos (especially a floor plan or enough interior photos to surmise the floor plan). It seems that there are great similarities from one 28 to another but I still don't know if that last digit ((280(5), 280(7), etc.)) explains the differences and what they are. What kind of work does it need? As I mentioned, I am pretty handy with tools. You are welcome to call me 360-452-0495. Looking forward to hearing from you if it is still available. Ray B

A 2805 indicates the trailer is a 2005 28 ft trailer, thus 2807 is a 2007 28 ft trailer.

Default Note to DaWalt

Unfortunately, we bought a 30 foot Trailmanor about 2 months ago and it tows like a feather but, is a lot of setup work. I really wanted to find a Hi-Lo the size of yours and geographically as close but nothing showed up. Thanks anyway and good luck with your sale effort. Ray
