...Looking for a Hi-Lo... Less than 2800 pounds or so...

Hello,
I am looking to buy a small to mid-size Hi-Lo. I would like something with a UVW that is less than 2800 / 3000 pounds. The lighter, the better.

I am located in North Carolina but am willing to travel for the right one at the right price. I can be reached at kelmarkv8@triad.rr.com .

Thank You

Welcome!

Welcome to the Hilo Trailer Forum, you have come to the right place.

The closest HiLo that was built last in the 2009 model year was the 15T. It is 15' total length and weighs just under 3000 pounds, gross weight.

Look at the brochure for 2009:

Thanks Joyce, I have yet to dive into the vast amounts of information that is available on the fantastic forum. My tow vehicle will handle a lot more weight than what I am looking for.

I suppose, by model, I am looking for a 17' to 21' Hi Lo. I realize this is more weight than I prefer, however I have pulled a full "brick" long enough. It is time for a HiLo.

Thanks

More info..........

The 2800/3000 (or less) pounds would be the UVW range I am looking for. Thanks for your reply Joyce.

Thanks

Hey Camping Dog, don't know how new a model you are looking for, but there is a 22', 1992 Classic just listed in "Hi-Lo's for sale" on this forum. The Classic series is the Lincoln of Hi Lo's.
Good luck, Richard

Spoted a HiLo for sale

Running some errands today and drove bt this RV dealership. Spotted a HI Lo for sale.Check it out on their web site. Colton RV Located in North Tonawanda, NY 1-800-628-4889. 1908 T $10,962. They call it a Classic.Yet is says 1908T. Is it a classic or a HI Lo. Towlite? If anyone is interested I would be willing to go check it out for you. It is forty minutes from my house. I would have to look up the price. I got a feeling you could get a better price one utterly freezing cold day in Feb. This is a rather big Rv place. They must have 200 units sitting on the lot for sale.

RichR 12-07-2011 07:24 AM

A 1908T would be a Towlite. That is what the T means. If it ends with a C it is a Classic.

Nice find Sam. Thanks for the tip.

HiLo for sale

I knew that the T ment towlite. However, look at the inside and outside pictures to make sure. Kind of scary that a dealer would list it incorrectly.

RichR 12-07-2011 09:13 PM

I think there are lots of dealers that know nothing about HiLo trailers.

Hi Camping Dog...

I bought a 1908T last Fall like the one mentioned at the RV dealership in this thread. It officially weighs 2600 lbs empty. But the paperwork says 3100 lbs when all the equipment like the air conditioner awning etc are accounted for.

We really like the way it tows and it is easy to maintain being so small.

We just got back from a trip to Amarillo Tx for a week. It got 16 mpg on the interstate with a 2005 F150 5.4 V8 The furnace along with an electric heater kept us warm when the night temps dropped in the 20's.

Be sure to check out all systems like furnace etc. We had a walkthru at the dealer here in Bentonville Ark and I still had to replace lift cables and have furnace fixed to the tune of 1000.00 dollars after taking the unit camping a couple of times.

Best of luck in your search :)

If you would like I can go check out the HiLo at Colton RV for you. I will come away with a list of all the features and can look up the price on www.NADA guides.comOur HiLo dealer would be able to do a pre inspection for you. Just tryin g to be helpful.

my search os over, I found a camper.....however.....

I would like to thank everyone for the tips and leads on a hilo. During my search for a hilo I came across a really sweet Trailmanor. It fulfilled my prerequisites for a camper, so it is now sitting in my driveway. The hilo web site is very informative and is very helpful with campers in general.

Even though I now have the Trailmanor, knowing me, I will probably keep an eye out for a hilo fixer upper. :)

There is also a TrailManor forum.

18 foot Hi Lo - Tow Lite for sale

I have an 18 foot Hi Lo - Tow Lite for sale.

Here is a link to the craigslist posting:

TowLite Camper

The axel weight is 2100 lbs. The hitch weight is 300 lbs.

Dual axel and low profile makes it a dream to tow. New tires all around.

It is a 1995, and in very good condition.
