Free Pull down blinds 2x 62" & 2x 38"

Have 4 very dirty blinds from my 2000 22ft Tow Lite to GIVE AWAY if anyone wants to clean them. 2x 62" and 2x 38"

Blinds can be picked up in northern Illinois or shipped on your dime.

If no interest they will be thrown on in about 1 month.

The blinds seem to work OK and are off white. see photos

Reasons we didn't try to clean them:
1) We didn't have a lot of time & found pull down black out roller shades worked even better for darkening the interior.
2) There look to be some stains as well as dirt.
3) The material seemed kinda 'paperish' & we were worried about the blinds falling apart if we soaked them.
4) The rest of the interior had mold - mildew odors & we were trying to remove fabric material where ever we could.

Thoughts on cleaning the blinds.

Try scrubbing with an oxy cleaner.

Thanks again for the blinds. I have not installed them yet, have some painting to do first, but they should work nicely.

Hi! I noticed you said you replaced your blinds with roller shades. Can you tell me where you found some that had the right dimensions for a Hi Lo? We have a 1993 and even though our blinds work great, we'd like to replace them with something newer. Any advice as to why you chose roller shades would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome Hilooverlander,
The local home improvement big box stores (we used Menards) will cut shades for the window width. We wanted an inch or two overlap on both sides. Once the shades were mounted, we unrolled them 8 or 10 inches beyond the needed length, marked that point on the shade & cut them to that new length. Then unrolled the remainder of the shade, pulled the excess material off the roller tube and reattached the new custom length with 2 sided carpet tape. It took a little trial and error to get the tension right but not too hard. We removed the excess material so the shade diameter would fit easier between the walls when the Hi-Lo was down.

We went with roller shades cause our HiLo had leaks before we bought it and was mildewed and we didn't feel like cleaning our stinky, dirty blinds. Also we were going to Alaska and wanted to really block the light to get the inside quite dark for easier sleeping. We also velcroed shade material to the roof vent openings to block light there as well.

We used the readily available low profile metal shade mounting brackets so everything fit when the top went down.

I hope this helps & I haven't forgotten anything.

Blinds for the HiLo.

Didn't realize that in our 1990 Classic that we probably should have rolled the blinds all the way to the top before lowering the HiLo. In our 1996 Classic the day and night shades defenitely get rolled up to the top for travel. The day and night shades are more fragile.

Hi! Thank you so much for your help and quick reply! We just went in there yesterday and took out all of the curtains, but left the mini blinds on for now. We were thinking of putting in top down bottom up accordian style shades. Do you have any thoughts on weather that would be a bad idea? lol! I had heard that they are somewhat heat and cold protecting.
Thank you again,
Amy
