Need hydraulic cylinder

I need a hydraulic cylinder for my 1999 Towlite 21TD. If you have one or can suggest a suitable replacement contact Lysle at 850-321-5367 or email me at lysles_lstinocher@yahoo.com.

Why do you need a replacement? If it is leaking, any hydraulic shop can reseal. If you want to buy a replacement, try the links below.

Hydraulic cylinder

If my memory serves me correctly a new cylinder costs about $400.00 plus tax and shipping. Getting a shop to rebuild one if about $200.00.

The cylinder would not lift and fluid was coming out of the return. I took it to a shop to have it rebuilt but they said they said they did not know if they could do it until they opened it up.

That sounds fair enough.

lysles, If they can rebuild, ensure they test it with tranny fluid, NOT hydraulic fluid! Dextron 1 thru 4. Mine was then tested to 2600 psi, cost $200 for stripping, rebuild, test, prime and painted white. Two days. That was in Ft Myers, FL.

BurdenSales.com sells hydraulic and electrical oddities in case you would rather attempt to replace one.

My homemade uses electric linear actuators because they work and aren't messy.

Had new seals installed

I found a machine shop in Belgrade, Montana to repair the cylinder. It cost $230 and works like a new one. Cylinder was not too difficult to remove and reinstall but a can of WD40 came in handy.

Glad to hear of your success! Congrats. I've done it myself, so I know what it's like. Not a bad price for 2019.
