Upper door latch needed
 

i need the upper door latch for a hilo. mine has the old style(Hooks on a bar attached to the door) or I could use the new style(Hooks on the edge of the Door). I have talked to Midget trailer and they do not have any.

dans, I'm pretty sure the door latches are a "generic" part. I'd look for them on etrailer.com or Camping World. You could also try a Google search for "trailer door latch". Do any of these: https://www.amazon.com/enclosed-trai...ler+door+latch look like they'd work?

I need the part that holds the upper door while raising or lowering the top, not the lock assy for the door. in my owners manual on page 9, they call it a door holder.

Oh, I understand now. I repaired mine, which lost its little "handle" somewhere. I honestly don't recall, however, where I found the part I used. There are some spring loaded cargo door latches that might work though, I got some of those to hold the battery compartment cover up and one to hold one of the cargo bay doors up where I store propane canisters. Again, I did a google search for latches and found them that way.

My 1991 26C had the door holder that clipped on the edge of the door and also had a rubber bumper for the door when it was open. this 1984 I have now the holder is rusted away and I would like to find a replacement. I will look some more on the internet to see if I find one there.

Have you got a photo. I may have one?

the tip that holds the door has rusted away. That picture is one like mine used to be.

I will get a picture of this one for you tomorrow to see if it's what you need. This one seems to be in good shape. Tip has no rust if I remember correctly.
