Hi All-

I just purchased a 1972 HiLo trailer for my family. Not that it really matters, but is this camper worth the $2750 I paid? The trailer was meticulously renovated with new foam insulation, wiring, cables....tires, shocks....the whole nine yards. Really clean and nice.

We are going to camp the daylights out of this camper, so the price isn't really that important. My boys are super excited to get out and make memories with Mom and Dad.

If it is ready to go RVing and you are happy,it is well worth the price. You cannot go by any book value on a rv this old that has been well renovated.

Hi Fly Rod and welcome!

In my thinking, from a purely economic standpoint, an RV will rarely make any financial sense. But what is the value of the memories you will build with your family? Priceless!

Congratulations and enjoy! BTW, I could only enlarge two of your photos but from what I could tell it looks like a very nice restoration.

Okay, you've got 3K in this baby, now camp the daylights out of it, sell it for 2K in a few years and move on up to something even more suitable for a larger family of four and keep on going. The trailer will do you right if you keep up with the little things . . . .

Thanks for replying. We bought this camper from a great family. He is a plumber by trade and is also a building inspector. This camper couldn't be any nicer inside and out for its age. Complete attention to detail. Can't remember meeting nicer people!

We live in an old house that I have been working on for a decade. The last thing I want is another project. We lucked out and found a nice camper that requires zero work - other than routine maintenance. We'll keep it in the garage, out of the elements.

We are going to camp and build family memories (without air conditioning). You are right, you can't put a price on that! I have uploaded some more pictures, hopefully they enlarge this time.

New to you HiLo

Welcome to the forum. Your HiLo is in fantastic shape. Just go camping and enjoy.

Wow! What a fabulous restoration!!!! Your trailer looks like it could be a "Tow Low" if you look at the wheel-crank for raising and lowering the top and the surge brake mechanism on the tongue..... Am not familiar with vintage Hi Los though.... Either way, you have a beautiful telescoping trailer!!!!! Enjoy it!!!!

That looks really nice

Wow!! What an excellent cut "diamond" you found. It's obvious the previous owner covered that unit with TLC. Enjoy with many years of camping.:)

Trailer Has Been Named

My 10 year old named the new trailer today. Her name is Lo-retta. My boys absolutely love having a camper, sleeping in it every night. Worth every penny I paid.

That's cute! I was wondering if HiLo owners named their campers. We haven't named ours yet.

That probably deserves a whole new thread, huh?

1972 Tow-Low Rather

You guys were right, my camper is a Tow-Low. It is a Model 700 Deluxe. My F150 pulled it like a dream, not a problem at all.

My boys and I "camped" out last night on the driveway. We woke up super early to the sound of a huge colony of bats dive bombing swarms of mosquitos. The clicking noise they were making woke us all up! My kids were sitting on the couch at 4:30 a.m. watching the bat show like it was the fourth of July. Memory number one has been logged in already.

This camper is exactly what we needed.

Yea, I thought it might be a Tow Low but it was HiLo's first cousin.... That should qualify you for the HiLo forum!!!! Great story about your camping in the driveway - bet many members have done that and, the kiddos will remember all of your camping trips..... Congrats again! Bob

Yep, they both came from the same place.
