1990 Funlite 17 - Wood Framing or Aluminum?

I'm going to look at a 1990 Funlite 17 tomorrow. Price isn't awesome ($2200), but I think he's willing to deal (or at least I know what I'll be willing to pay given the condition post inspection).

I've read that there was a switch from wood to aluminum wall framing around 2000. Does that hold true across the lines, or just the Classic? So the Funlites/Towlites were also wood before 2000?

Thanks all!
Dave

Welcome to the Forum!

I think you will find that the walls have steel frames.

Here is a link to a brochure:Past Trailer Models | Hi-Lo Trailers

Thanks Rich.

I have all the brochures downloaded (on my phone no less!). Looking at the 17 from 1990 it seems to be all steel (maybe some aluminum?).

Are the brochures that detailed for all the years?

This may get me into trouble but I think only the early Towlite models had wood frame construction up until about 1998.

This fits with the brochures - all the towlites before 1999 don't show a diagram of the frame. The 99 brochure shows the steel frame in a diagram/drawing.

G ood to know - thanks for the info!

My 1998 Towlite 21TL had steel tubing in the walls.
