1995 25 foot
 

here is a 1995 25 foot, the guy is asking $3200. Looking at the picture it has some damage he attempted to repair. My question what would this trailer be worth. I do not think by the pictures it is near his asking price.

Buying a used HiLo
 

I don't think the HiLo is worth the price with the body damage. I also see the seal between the halves sticking out and could possible need replacement. Seal material is about $450.00 plus tax. This would also be doing the labor your self. I have a 1990 25ft. HiLo and we have done extensive interior wall repair due to leaking windows after several yrs of ownership. Use the buyers checklist when purchasing a used HiLo. Be patient another one will come along that is right for you. You are very wise to ask for advice before buying.

Not bad at all, considering that it has Automatic transmission and uses gas fuel, ,so who needs a towing vehicle. problem is I don't see where the steering wheel location.

how do you even see with that big sunshade, would be good protection in case of front end collision, I just don't like driving that thing with 2 tanks of lp gas right in front of you....:)

I love the retro engine crank on on it too! Nice that you don't have to ever worry about the starter failing.

But, I hear you regarding the gas tanks in the front collision zone! :eek: Maybe the "pointy" bumper provides all the protection you need? :confused:

What, no Photos of the ceiling, I wonder why. :rolleyes:

My meager experience with the lack of ceiling picture seems to indicate lots of water damage but, that would show on inspection. So, if it is close, take a look.

CL ads- yes, lots of bad ones out there. I'm looking for a tow vehicle and you'd be surprised by the comments and pics I've seen; "Clean interior", then you see a pic of a motor head and valves on the seat, pics taken at night and one with the sun right behind it flooding the vehicle out with sunlight.

This was taken from NDgent's post here on the forum. It is a great go-by list. You can do a search of "thinking about buying" and find his post to read it first hand.

Basically, start with the visual items –
1. Exterior
• Look for water stains and discoloration on inside walls and around ceiling anywhere vents, skylights, windows, etc. exist.
• Push and prod with your hand on the inside walls for soft spots (which could indicate a water leak and a damaged or rotten interior wall).
• Check for bubbles in the wallpaper (a sign of delimitation or water intrusion)
2. Interior cleanliness of the unit-
• Look for water stains and discoloration on inside walls and around ceiling anywhere vents, skylights, windows, etc. exist.

• lights
• fans
• refrigerator
• air conditioner
• heater
• water pump
• range hood
• stovetop
• oven (if equipped)
• microwave (if equipped)
• stereo (if equipped)
4. Lift System-
• Does the unit raise and lower properly
• Check the lift system for hydraulic leaks (puddle under the trailer)
• Check the lift cables to see if they are in good shape and not frayed
• Check the seal between the upper and lower body halves for tears or damage
5. fill the tanks to the top and check for leaks
6. Battery
7. Solar Panel (if equipped)
