Default Help choosing HiLo model

Downsizing from Class A and want something that will fit it my garage (20 ft +-). Very limiting I know. Is there a HiLo model that will fit (maybe with special tongue) that also had a full-time bed? Old or new not important. Also considering TrailManor.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! You have come to the place to get your questions answered about HiLo trailers. I'm sure you will get a variety of answers.

As you may already know, HiLo is no longer in business but there is a chance that it may return. Finding a HiLo with a permanent bed will be limited to those that are 26 feet and longer, I believe. The 22 foot models that were made are actually 22'-4" plus spare tire. With a removable/swiveling tongue you can reduce the length by about 2 feet. The tongue option is somewhat rare to find in my opinion. Those models did not have permanent beds. They either have a dinette that converts to a bed or a couch that converts to a bed.

Let's see what others have to say.

Check the brochures in the library. Hi-Lo had many small sizes over the years, Hi-Lo s are measured from the tip of the hitch to the back of the rear bumper,so a 19ft would fit. Finding one that had the removal hitch would be very hard to find.
And as RichR said the short ones do not have permanent beds. Some people have removed the couch in the 22 ft and replaced it with a bed.

Default Wanting to buy a HiLo

I said this before and I'll will say it again. Afew of our club members have have owned Trail Manors and they leaked and were of inferior quality. Did some say they also went out of business. Our HiLo Dealer learned never to take a Trail Manor in on trade.

We have a family member with a TrailManor and it doesn't impress me very much. The concept is good but I don't think the quality is there. The weight to size is good and could help those with towing limitations. There is a lot to setting up and taking down, and I can see a number of things that can go wrong. We have had five Coleman popups and two HiLo's and know them pretty well. If I didn't have a HiLo quite frankly I would take a Coleman over the TrailManor, if they still made Coleman, that is.

We did the same thing you are doing-we downsized-went to a `24 hi-lo-(used)-the floorplan was very close to our liking, but we wanted a slightly different bed set-up,and by looking the bedroom area over closely,I found that I could remodel that area very easily, and make the bed any way we wanted.Too bad your in Houston-we`re in the buffalo,NY area, and our dealer has a (NEW)-2010-20' hi-low,with a nice bedroom arrangement he`s trying to sell-Dave
