Hi Ho or should I say Hi Lo neighbors
hello All
Just became the owner of a 1981 Hi Lo FUNCHASER 2181T owned by father that bought it new followed by the son that maintained and used it for the last several years. He's moved up (?) into the world of a larger 5th wheel monster. I've been reading the posts here and found a wealth of great information. I've never owned any kind of a camper prior to this one. We looked at several both pop-ups and conventional bumper pull. Found the Hi Lo and it was the best of both worlds. Was priced at 1500 bucks, but has cold air, cooktop, oven, water heater, full bath, inverter and appears to be in outstanding condition. We will now become "Happy Campers" we will continue to delve into the great information here on the Hi Lo in particular and camping in general. Thanks for all the great posts. :) |
Welcome to the HTF! What part of our great land do you hail from?

I live in the great state of Arkansas, in the NW corner, sort of between Fayetteville/Springdale and Branson. Have lots of wonderful campgrounds in the area, on Beaver and Table Rock lakes.

Welcome
Hi RebelRooster,
Welcome to the Hi Lo Forum. I'm sure you will find the wealth of information found on this site very helpful should you have to make repairs to your new Hi Lo. You live in a very beautiful area, we have been up through there several times. My folks were from the Deer and Annie's Chapel areas and I have lots of cousins in Deer and Paris, AR that I haven't seen in many years. We are going to take our Hi Lo on a trip to Lake Eufaula in Eastern Oklahoma beginning next week and looking forward to our 3-week road trip. We are dropping our Hi Lo off and going on to a convention in KC and may come back down through that area on our return trip. When we lived in Muskogee, we used to take a trip just over the state line to eat some of the best chicken we've ever eaten at the AQ in Springdale. :) It sounds as if you got a bargain on your '81 model. Have fun. Jerry & Carol Curtis Fredericksburg, TX 2406 T |

Deer is about 30 miles south of my location as the crow flies, about 50 as the road runs. Thank you for the encouragement. |
RebelRooster,
So sorry to hear about the AQ. It was one of our favorites. It was so popular, are there any plans to rebuild it? We seldom go into the Fayetteville area. They had a competitor just down the road, are they still in business? We could possibly be related. Got any Asher's in your family? The last time we were in Deer, my dad's cousin was still alive and kicking at 95 years of age, still driving, and came into town quite often, and he had grown up with my dad. The very next year when we went through Deer, my dad's cousin had passed away so we didn't get to meet him. My cousin, [several times removed[, owned the grocery store and Post Office in Deer and told us about him. We should have gone by to see him but we were pressed for time so we had to put it off until the next year and that was too late.. Regardless, if any of our forum ever has a chance to go through that area, they will not be disappointed. Some where along the way I recall going through "Booger Holler". They were famous for their Hamburgers and their Hummingbirds. We were told they use 100 pounds of sugar daily to keep the hummingbird feeders going! Jerry & Carol Curtis Fredericksburg, TX |

Reb,
Okay, I've been through Hell (Michigan) on my way to Paradise (also Michigan). I've been in and out of Intercourse, Pennsylvania (pun intended). Reb, you've convinced me and I've just "picked" Booger Holler as a stop I need to make. Its now on my bucket list! :o Jim |
