Hi-Lo Review in May 2010 Trailer Life

Just FYI everyone. There is a big article on the new 2010 "2310H" in this
months (May) issue of 'Trailer Life'. Gives a very favorable review, noting
"some big updates - inside and out" with several pics. Summed it up saying
that "Living in the trailer was comfortable, undemanding and uncomplicated.
When it was time to go, we properly stowed away everything inside, and with another push of the button, the Hi-Lo was again ready for travel."
The tow vehicle was a GMC Acadia FWD SLT-2 with a 3.6 liter v-6
with a tow rating of 5,200 lbs. They claimed that it worked out admirably
but with the 2310H weighing in @ 4,260 lbs. w/no cargo I'm a little surprised.
Personally, I'd like a little more of a comfort zone. But what do I know, I'm
still kind of new at this!

I just received my issue in the mail and read the article. Kind of had to laugh about how they said had "some big updates" when comparing the 2010 23 to the 2008 15T that they reviewed previously by stating the 2310 has more windows. Well yeah, it's bigger than the 15T. The 2310 has the same amount of windows as my 2007 22T. The only window difference being the front window. But yes, they did give it a favorable review.

I would not tow it with the vehicle they did, a 3.6L V6 Acadia. Maybe if you don't pack anything in it!

Not loaded - and depends on where you're going and the terrain!
We went thru New Mexico and Colorado last summer and I couldn't imagine
pulling up some of those mountain passes with a v-6!

We have been looking for something different from what we have. We have a fifith wheel Titanium (28 feet) and the big Lance truck camper with the dining slide. We like the looks of the 2010 2810H model HiLo and saw the review also in TL. Thinking strongly of that HiLo; seems to have all we want...but is the quality like I am used to in the Lance and Titanium? Want something easy to tow, fully enclosed and less hassle than the Lance (we are mid 60's). We only go to the public campgrounds and favor off the grid and small, so manuevering and parking the rig in tight quarters is a concern. Any comments on the HiLo are appreciated!

HiLo verses a 5th wheel

I have pulled both and find the hilo is the easyer of the two to tow. There is little or no wind drag, the 18 wheelers don't push you all over the road and I get much better fuel milage with the HiLo. I find the HiLo has or you can add any thing the big rigs have. The only draw back is the HiLo does not have as much storage room for all your extra junk. I fixed that by adding a camper shell to my F250 crew cab superduty diesel, now I just put the extra junk in the back of the truck.

Ditto Sam - When looking at other rigs that seems to be the one thing that
sticks out, storage. Hi-Lo's can challenge you to be a little more imaginative
when it comes down to storage and space utilization. We have the same
sort of set-up, a 250 SD crew cab w/camper cover. Plenty of room (how much do you have to take with you anyway) including a kennel for our German Shepherd. Just the extra bed length of the 250 (6.5') vs the F-150
(5.5') that we had before seems to make a difference. The pros for the Hi-Lo,
towing safety and better mileage, make it worth it in my mind!
