New 2709 Hi Lo $14,900 Good Find or Not

I recently found a 2709 Towlite at a motor cycle dealer and was hoping to get some input from some Hi Lo members. The owner of the cycle shop told me he purchased a motor home and two campers from a nearby camper dealer that was going out of business, as an investment and still has the HiLo.It appears to never been owned and is in mint condition.Floor plan has the slide out and front kitchen with rear queen bed and i have inspected it closley and all seems new and no flaws.I have searched all web sites for an Idea of this model's value and when I find one similar in year and floor plan the value seems to be a lot less.I was wondering if something was wrong with that size and model or my imagination. The 2809 are holding thier value it seems and was just hoping for some good feed back before making the purchase. Thanks in advance:)

The 2709 is the towlite model, which is lighter weight and less expensive than the 2809 classic model. The Towlite had fewer standard options, smaller propane tanks and smaller refrigerator. The classics had more hardwood in the trim of their cabinets.

The price seems good to us.

Just make sure that you check and probably recalk all the roof seams since it has been sitting so long.

Check out N.A.D.A. Home Page The value that NADA comes up with is higher than the asking price.

If the trailer is, in fact, an unused untitled unit, the price is very good. IMO The NADA values are for used units, and even at that the price is below used. You also have to consider that a new HiLo is a one of a kind thing and probability of ever getting a new one in the future looks rather dim.

Added Note: You realize that there will be no warranty on the trailer itself, but you may be able to get warranties on the appliances. I'm not sure how those would be handled, it would be good to ask the dealer.
