Reliable weight chart for Hi Lo's?

I have an '06 Jeep Liberty, tow rated at #5K. Is there a chart or listing showing unit weights for various year and lengths?
I'm looking for something in the #3500 range.-Thanks, Jerry

Hi Jerry -

You'd be in the right ballpark with a 17 ft TowLite. Mine is about 3500# if I don't fill the fresh water tank - 3800# if I do. A 15 ft model is somewhat lighter and a 19 ft towlite is just slightly heavier.

I pulled mine with a 2002 Nissan Frontier 6 cyl that had a tow limit of 5000#. I actually did it over a couple 11,000 ft passes in Colorado, but I was in 1st gear on the uphill grades.

I decided, since we like to go into those high places, that I needed more pull in a tow vehicle, so I got an F150. Now I tow up those grades in 2nd.

Previously I was quite able to tow my 2401 HiLo - with a 6 cyl. Honda Ridgeline. The 24 foot, 01 model year was 4037# dry while my Honda was also rated at 5000 pounds. On flat ground the Honda was quite capable, but for any inclines it used lower gears. I never attempted any high mountain passes.

Because I didn't like the RMP noise of using these higher gears I also eventually upgraded my tow vehicle to a V10 Ford F250.

You can go to the reference library and go through the brochures. The weights shown are before options like AC, bunk, 2nd battery, etc.

Thank You for the replies. Upgrading is likely not an option as I am retired and the Jeep is paid for. :)

Besides, I need the Jeep to hunt.

I will check the library.-Jerry

Jerry,

Some of the 21ft TowLites manufacturered prior to 2000 are much lighter. Our 1996 was only about 2500 lbs

HiLo Weight

Just purchased a 2009 1909T. Book states total weight is 2690 lbs. No, had weighed on Cat Scale and trailer axle weight is 2920 with a tongue weight of 650. It does have all options installed(loft bed, ac, microwave, awning, tv antenna). So HiLo is exaggerating their weights on the low side. It dropped my Ford Expedition back bumper down 3”. You better have minimum 1/2 ton truck or SUV built on a truck frame along with weight distribution hitch to tow safely and within limits. I would not attempt to tow with Tacoma, Frontier, Ridgeline, or even Colorado.
