The Tip-out?

There is a 24T we were looking at online. I found a youtube of how the tip-out goes out from the outside but no inside view. We are both 59 years old and am wondering how much effort is required to get the tip-out extended. The other question we have has to do with whether or not you can get in and around the camper, like if you stopped at a rest stop or grocery store, with the tip-out not tipped out? Your help greatly appreciated!

There is little effort to get the tip out extended. You hold the switch until the tip out stops, then give it a nudge by hand to get it over center and continue with the switch.

On my 2404T, there is no room to walk with the tip out stowed. There is about 4" of space between the tip out and the kitchen. :(

Thank you. Looks like we would than prefer not to have the tip-out. We'll keep looking.

My wife and I have a 2408T and one of the reasons we got it was the tip-out. It opens up the interior quite a bit. We actually leave the dinette set up as a bed and use the couch in the tip-out to eat, read, watch TV, etc.

As Ruben stated, the tip put is super easy to use. It actually takes about one minute total to extend or retract it. This includes opening and closing the door on the upper body that allows the tip-out to extend. Not being able to get around a retracted tip-out is not an issue because it is so easy to open up. Moreover, the tip-out extends out from the trailer body less than most slide-outs do.

Personally, I would not discount getting a Hi-Lo with a tip out.

We are thinking that maybe we could consider one with a tip-out. The one that has came up is at a dealer south of us probably 90 miles away. The price seems good. I came back here to look at the brochures and floor plans again and take notes this time. We saw some new ones in 2002 at an RV show so at least, we have seen the quality. We started out looking at the 22' and now we have removed that restriction since we have decided to get a newer tow vehicle. Work in progress. Thanks again.:)

Our 2805 classic has the table and chairs, no dinette. If we want to use the bathroom or get to the fridg on the road we find a fairly level spot to stop, raise the top and there is plenty of room to walk by the stowed tip out. We love the extra floor space the tip out gives. I made an attachment for the coutch that lets us make it up as a double bed or queen bed with the double or queen aero bed. Works great when kids or another travel with us. Check out the classics with the tip out.

Thanks Jim L! I was wondering if we went longer if that might work.:)

If you decide to opt out on this 24, send me the link. I think you would find the advantage of the T is a plus most of the time you spend in the trailer. Hope you find just the right one.

We have decided that since we would have to get a bigger tow vehicle as ours would move the 24 but not well that we will look for something bigger. Link sent to Sweeney. We do have a ex-dealer of Hi-Lo north of us that has some smaller units but the prices are  Better to find the right one than to hurry.:)
