Year Hi-Lo Started Using Laminated Walls
 

I am trying to avoid laminated walls and I know there were older ones, I remember specifically the "wavy" siding and suspect it was not laminated. I tried looking at the construction diagrams in a couple of the brochures but I know that you can have a fiberglass skin without it being laminated to insulation and interior wallboard. I just really do not want laminated. Thank you for any info.:)

This may seem like a weird answer to your question, but if you look at what material is used to cover the storage box under the dinette seats will probably tell the story. The laminated walls used the cutouts from the windows to make the box covers. The older trailers without laminated walls probably had plywood for the covers. There are probably some exceptions to that. Can anyone back me up on that?

Can't help you out on that Rich, but here is what I found out in earlier HiLo brochures: 1990 HiLo - "corrugated exterior" with laminated ceiling and sidewalls/1995 HiLo - "corrugated exterior" with laminated ceiling and sidewalls/2001 HiLo - "flat exterior" with laminated sidewalls. Sounds like the original poster will have to get a much older HiLo (pre 90's) if they don't want laminated walls.

Thanks! Corrugated? Isn't that the "wavy" siding? It was quite "wavy" almost like the heavier fiberglass sheeting that you can buy at home stores. I actually liked the look. I have seen many over the years but never paid close attention and now, can't get away to look at any. Winter is already too long and just starting.:( I did just look through the 1977 brochure, loved it! It has a "sandwich" but doesn't use the word "laminated" but I don't know if they even called it that way back. We have a used-to-dealer about 50 miles north so when we get up there and check for used, they should be a good information source.

Our ten year old 29 ft. Hi-Lo Classic has some de-lamination, I suppose from water leaks that took me to long to find. I think our next camper will have metal siding, then delamination would not be an issue.
