1968 HiLO Traveler 180 ..I check the hydraulic ?

Hi wonderful people..I am restoring this wonderful 1968 Traveler but am running into a problem with the lift. It goes up really well until the last four inches then stops then just will not move up. I have adjusted the side screw and it helped allowing the top to go up about another inch. Now I want to check the hydraulic fluid level but am not sure how. All the diagrams and pictures in the manuals I can find are too grainy or don't point out the specific place to unscrew and check. Here is a picture of my motor lift. Can someone tell me how to check the hydraulic fluid ?
Thanks..I love my HiLo

Yours is an oldie! but checking it should be the same as todays. With the top down, the resv should be filled to within 1/2" from the top. With the top up, within 1" from the bottom. It's filled with Dextron 3,4,or 5 tranny fluid. NOT 6- 6 is not compatible with the internal seals and "O" rings.
In your photo, removing the bolt with the bell on it should expose the fill port. If I'm wrong, someone will chime in.

Thank you for your reply.

I did what you said to do and it worked !!!!
It now goes up and down with no sound, smoothly. I added some Bar's Leaks 1400 Transmission Repair fluid as well as Dextron III. I figure the seals are leaking somewhere. It appeared there was little fluid in the tank when I first checked it.

So we will see how this thing holds up. At least I know how to check the fluid now....
Thanks again.
