1984 2184d

Hi. My family and I are being gifted a 1984 Hi-Lo 2184D and I cannot find any information about this model. Needless to say we are new to any type of camping that doesn't involve sleeping on the ground but with two young boys we thought this was the time to start. I would like to know its specifications especially in regards to weight and tongue weight as we are looking at trading our truck in for something with better fuel economy. But I also wouldn't mind having an idea of how many it will sleep or even what it looks like! Any help would be greatly appreciated as this offer was too generous to refuse.

A 21 foot duel axle is going to weigh around 3400 to 3900 lbs empty, only real way to get it's actual weight is to have it weighed. If it has the drop down bunk bed it will sleep to kids there.
Go to the Reference Library and look at some of the older Brochures and manuals.

Gifted HiLo

Welcome to the forum. We have some great gifted, friendly posters we will help you in any way we can. You absolutely must have enough truck to pull this camper. In addition to the wt. of the camper you will have people wt.,food and gear. Don't forget about fresh water and propane. What kind of a truck do you presently have? we can help you sort this all out. Take some pictures of the trailer and post when you can. Where are you located?

Currently I have a 2003 Dodge Ram quad cab with the 5.7 Hemi and is two wheel drive. I haven't pulled anything with it and it didn't come with a hitch but that should be a fairly easy fix. I looked it up online and according to the info I found, it should be equipped to pull 7750 lbs. Currently we are living in northern Indiana.

Thanks for the help.

Matching up truck and tow vehicle.

I would keep the truck you have now. Does your truck have the tow package? You will also need to buy a hitch with sway control, brake controller and maybe tow mirrors. Good buys can often be found on Craigs list or Ebay. Some things to consider.
