2006 Hilo

Hello to all
I have a chance to buy a 2006 Hilo camper. The lady has not give me the correct model number because what's she is telling me is 1110 and that does not show up on internet searches. So what i would like to know is what would a 2006 be worth in reasonable shape. Say a 22 ft. And what should i look for when I go look at this. what are the major things that could be wrong with it to make me stay away. Any information would be appreciated.

Deeder, Welcome to the forum. This where you can learn most anything Hi Lo!
On the opening page, at the top, find the "search" header, type in "hi lo check list". Click on that. About the 8th one down, tinovac was looking at a hi lo and this check list was given to him. If you can, print it out and take it with you. Hi Los are measured from the back bumper to the center of the ball. (sometime it's rounded up or down to the nearest foot). Info can also be found on a kitchen cabinet door. Take a pic of that. If the door hasn't been removed. Unless removed or weathered beyond recognition, this info can also be found on the street side (drivers side) near the front.
Also, if your interested, in the reference library, under "Hi Lo Owners Manual" there is a "sticky" for videos on the Hi Lo systems and how to operate them.
Please let us know how your doing. ALL things on the Hi Lo can be repaired or replaced. Depends on how handy you are, we'll help you thru it.
It's winter, so many Owners are hibernating, not camping or are shoveling snow. So it may take a short while to get back to you.

Welcome to the forum. If in fact it is a 22' trailer and the year model is 2006, it will be listed as a 2206, (length followed by year).

This was taken from NDgent's post here on the forum. It is a great go-by list. You can do a search of thinking about buying and find his post to read it first hand.

Basically, start with the visual items –
1. Exterior
• Look for water stains and discoloration on inside walls and around ceiling anywhere vents, skylights, windows, etc. exist.
• Push and prod with your hand on the inside walls for soft spots (which could indicate a water leak and a damaged or rotten interior wall).
• Check for bubbles in the wallpaper (a sign of delimitation or water intrusion)
2. Interior cleanliness of the unit-
• Look for water stains and discoloration on inside walls and around ceiling anywhere vents, skylights, windows, etc. exist.
• Push and prod with your hand on the inside walls for soft spots (which could indicate a water leak and a damaged or rotten interior wall).
• Check for bubbles in the wallpaper (a sign of delimitation or water intrusion)
3. Test appliance functions –
• lights
• fans
• refrigerator
• air conditioner
• heater
• water pump
• range hood
• stovetop
• oven (if equipped)
• microwave (if equipped)
• stereo (if equipped)
4. Lift System-
• Does the unit raise and lower properly
• Check the lift system for hydraulic leaks (puddle under the trailer)
• Check the lift cables to see if they are in good shape and not frayed
• Check the seal between the upper and lower body halves for tears or damage
5. fill the tanks to the top and check for leaks
6. Battery
7. Solar Panel (if equipped)

The NADA guides are a little high on the prices but will get you into the ballpark.

Welcome to the forum.

Have the seller turn the ref. on the night before you go to see this HiLo. Climb on the roof and look for soft spots. Might need a ladder. Look for water damage on the inside of cupboards. Press on all walls for signs of water damage. Ask if they have service records. How old are the tires? When was the last time the brakes and bearings were serviced? Keep us posted.
