2404 cabinet loose

One end of the cabinet over the table (driver side) has dropped about 1/2" and is loose (can be moved up). I can not determine how these cabinets are mounted, so I can not fix this issue.

Any information on how these are mounted to the HiLo upper section would be appreciated.

Does anyone have details on the roof joists (material, location, etc).

I don't know if you've already figured this out, or if I can be of any help. My HiLo has steel framing--I know they went to aluminum later.

I was able to find the frame in the roof with a rare-earth magnet. Slide it along the roof, and it will stick to where the frame is. It has to be a pretty strong magnet to work.

I also found that the majority of the frame in the roof ran side to side. However, at least on mine, there is a member that runs front to back where the front edge of the cabinet is screwed to the ceiling. In other words, the entire length of the cabinet face frame has a roof frame member above it.

My guess is that you can probably move over an inch from where the screw pulled out and put another screw in and pull the cabinet back up, but there's only one way to find out!

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I had a couple of screws the was suppose to hold the cabinet but they missed the steel frame when making it. I just moved over the screw and went into the frame. Problem solved.

Thanks jjharris11 - your suggestion worked. It was easy to find the steel frame with a magnet. I pulled the cabinet up with two #8 stainless sheet metal screws screwed into pre-drilled holes in the frame.

Awesome! Glad it worked out!
