I have a 2206 towlite which has the same lifting system
Never had a problem the most important thing on these trailers are you must do regular maintance as in lubircate the cables , pulleys , guide rod next to the lifting ram and glide rails on outside of the trailer
Any problems I heard of was a cause of not doing this maintance
The rest of the items on the Hilo including appliances are found on all other travel trailers
This is my second Hilo my first Hilo was a 97 which I had for 7 years and my 2206 Hilo I have had for 8 years
Good choice on year you are looking at Hilo switched to aluminum framing in 2001
One other thing , keep up with fresh caulking on all of the seams and around the windows
I use sikaflex 1a in white color I recaulk the trailer every 3 years weather it needs it or not
I have used this product in the HVAC trade for over 30 years

We have a 2705T which we have had for nearly three years. Unknown to us, the water heater was leaking when we made the purchase, but after getting the aluminum heater tank repaired and changing some of the pex pipe, the heater was okay. We also had problems with the hot water pex pipe flexing so much it created a leak with the pex pipe that connected with the city water hook up. That too was correct by changing the connections with regular kitchen hoses from our local box store. This year I finally broke down and purchased a new water heater as I was having problems with the tank sensors.
