7 blade connector question
 

Up grading to 7 blade connector on the tv. Etrailer says the black wire to the battery is fused. What amperage, 20 amp or 30 amp?
Can the connectors be sealed/protected with silicone grease?
Last question. Anyone have interior pics of the interior U couch in the 240U. Mine has been modified but I'd like to reverse that and go original, "sort of". I can see the holes in the floor and walls, but can't make sense of them as to structure. Thanks for any help. The floor plans don't help at all.

Use a 30 Amp fuse on the +12V hot line. 20 Amps is too small if the refrigerator is using DC and the battery is being charged. Pull the plug before you raise the top, because the lifting motor can increase the current above 30 Amps if the refrigerator is on and the battery is a bit low.

You could use "bulb grease" on the contacts. I'm not sure how conductive anything else is. I don't think you need it though. Plugging and unplugging seems to keep things clean for me.

Thanks Jack, the #12 ground wire needs only to be grounded to the vehicle, right? Or does it HAVE to go back to the Battery? When I wired up the tv connector "loosely" and plugged it in, not everything in back lit up, but attaching each wire directly to the trailer plug (which is badly corroded) each system seems to be ok. Me thinks the tt plug should be replaced. (several prongs bent and I have a replacement plug). When bringing it home, we had to TIE the plugs together, as it never stayed "locked" in. Rather do it right just for peace of mind.

You may want to go with a whole new plug and cord. The plug is molded to the cord and would be more weather resistant and more durable. Take a photo of the wires connected to the terminal strip in the battery box first before replacing to save on errors.

Yes, you can attach the ground wire to a clean, metal spot on your tow vehicle's frame to complete the ground path. Many of your vehicle's components are probably grounded that way, such as the tail lights, starter, etc. The battery ground wire in your tow vehicle attaches to to frame/engine to complete the ground path.

I agree with Rich's suggestion about replacing the trailer plug. A proper plug/socket combination should lock together to prevent accidental disconnect.
