AC help needed !!

Hello, we have a recently purchased 2009 27T. We are using the first time to stay at my Dad's house while here for his funeral. Yesterday and today the AC has had water leaking into the camper through the filters/vents on either side of center when the AC is set to low cool. it's been very rainy at night but yesterday and today it has been hot, 90 degrees so hot and humid air to deal with

Two questions. First any ideas what we can do to get the water to stop leaking to the inside of the camper? Second where should the condensate water drain? We are getting random runoff to the left of the door as you look at the camper.

BTW Husband checked the condensate drain lines, they are clear.

Thanks!!

Jed:

It could be due to a plugged drain off the drain pan, or your Hi-Lo being off-level. Check the level. If not that, send somebody up on the roof, have them remove the a/c shroud and look at the drain off the drain pan. On my 2008, the drain isn't a tube, but a small depressed area coming off the passenger side of the RV. Mud daubers sometimes plug up the drain with their nests.

If neither of these, it could be dirty evaporator coils on the a/c. If that's the culprit, an air compressor or vacuum can be used to clean the coils, also accessible by removing the shroud.

Finally, it cold be a bad gasket that seals the a/c unit into the roof.

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Hi Jed;

My A/C was leaking through the filters to the inside of the trailer. In my case, I bought a new gasket for the A/C opening thru the roof, but before I tried to get someone to help install it I noticed a crack in the shroud on top. The rain was coming in thru that.

Just one other thing to check. I bought a new shroud and no more problem!

Ac rain shower inside.

On our 1990 25ft. Classic we experienced an inside rain shower. Immediately shut the unit off. Then the next day when DH was rested up he used a socket set to gently tighten the inside bolts. Being careful to night over tighten as per the tips on You Tube. The gasket needed to be tightened up. Traveling causes things to jar loose. Problem solved and never happened again.

I had a similar problem and found the rear nut on the AC fan (under the shroud) was loose. The excessive vibration was causing the condensation water to enter the camper. Tightened same and installed a lock nut. Beach
