another newbe

Hello all I'm old but new to HI-LO trailer forum.
I have been looking for a trailer to replace my last travel trailer a 26 footer
I didn't like trying to pull a barn door sized trailer front end down the road so I started looking for something smaller just missed an A-Liner now I have my eye on a 1702RK HI-LO near my house, they are asking $7000 which is more than I want to pay but I also don't want to insult the owner, it is in great shape but it is 10 years old I'm sure it needs a lot of maintenance pullys tires ect
What does everyone think about the price to high to low or about right

thanks Pete

Welcome to the forum. You can check out the link below and see what you think. The NADA guide is usually a little high but will put you in the ballpark.

Price of trailer

Don't worry about insulting the owners of this HiLo. Copy the page from the NADA guides and show them the price. Put in your offer and if it is meant to be it will happen. If not leave them a written offer with your phone #. Used trailers are readily available. It is a buyersmarket.

Re: Pete4330:

Pete, you have some good information given to you already. I did not know of, nor was I privy to NADA guide line information when my wife and I purchased our 1980 21 foot FunChaser.

Just prior to posting this, I entered to the best of my knowledge, information I could, about what we brought home, and was satisfied with the suggested retail price we paid. Our trailer needs a lot of TLC, but it has a reasonably good foundation to work on. That much I considered when we looked it over.

To feel sorry for the previous owner... Yes, they could well be proud of its appearance when they offer it up to someone else; however if you have doubts about the asking price, you might think about reselling it after you put your time and energy into making it better.

You too, will more than likely feel like you are giving up one of your family members. Let logic rule.

As SAM said, It is a buyers market, and there other trailers out there.

Best of LUCK to you... Dabbler
