Default Any one know how to get the top/bottom seal?

Sad to hear about the demise of Hi Lo, hope someone buys the assets and reopens but given the economy and price point of a new HI Lo I doubt if it will happen.

I was going to replace the top/bottom seal this fall, waiting to order the seal till later in the year. I have hear the seal material is available from Mc Master Carr (McMaster-Carr).

Has anyone ordered the seal material and if so what is the product number? Wish now i would have done this task last year....

Thanks in advance....
Rick

Rick,

We had J.R. Enterprises, of Butler, OH, replace our top/bottom seal about 5 years ago. I've read that they no longer sell Hi-Lo parts. However, they may be able to tell you their source. Their contact info. is available elsewhere in this forum. Jim

Default RE: JR Emterprises

JR Enterprises is out of business now, and with today's notice of Hi LO closing their doors that will no longer be a source of information.

I am looking for someone who has found the source of the replacement seal....

Thanks for any information.

RD, thanks for the update, I didn't know JR Enterprises was also "retired."

Ironically, when I had my top/bottom seal replaced by them, the fellow that did the work was the very same craftsman who had installed the the original seal when the trailer was built. He didn't remember our specific trailer, but did remember that that was his job back in 1969. Jim

Let me set the record straight. J & R Enterprises ended when Greg Stanley died. J & R Trailer Repair is alive and well at the same location, Butler, Ohio. They could not use the same name because of legal reasons. Jim & Rob at the "new" J & R perform the same services that Greg Stanley provided. J & R are sole distributors for numerous HiLo parts, including cables. They replaced the four cables and my seal in June, 2010. Their phone number is 419-883-3001.

I just replaced my seal and ordered it from the website mentioned. I cost $2.25/foot plus shipping. my 51 feet cost $114.75 plus $17.85 shipping.
I only had 1' left so don't skimp on the order.
