Anyone have any storage tips?
 

There are plenty of cabinets and storage space in our HiLo, but how do you keep things from bouncing around when you travel? Do you rig up something inside the cabinets, or use bins, or what? I'm sure you've come up with lots of clever ways to make things stay put.

The best way to keep dishes in place is to use ScootGard it is wonderful product and we get it in large rools from Camping World. Cut it into small pieces and place it between dishes etc.

when hanging thinks in the wardrobe I installed a small eyelet at each end of the close rod and streach a bungie over the hanges when travling to keep closes from jumping off the hangers. this problem is worst in trailer with rear bathrooms.

I store my pots and pans in the oven when travling, as the oven is very stroung and will suport the weight of cast iron.

I keep the TV and microwave on the floor with pillows between them when travling.

If you have a unused bunk it makes good storage. Check other postings for easy convershion.

Also there some room over the LP bottles When I had the funlite I stored my water hose between the top of the bottles and the bottle cover.

Hanging Locker: Our 2403T has a rear bath with hanging locker. So long as the lid on the hanging locker stays down, the clothes hangers cannot come off the rod. We installed a hook and screw eye that you can access from the front door that keeps the lid closed.

Lower Cabinet Doors: These can fly open when travelling. We use 2 small screw eyes; one on the edge of the door and another on the frame so that they line up. We thread "twist ties" through both eyes and twist em.

Dishes and Pantry Items: We installed wire pull-out racks that slide on tracks. These are available at any home store.

Other: The TV, laptop computer, etc. are laid on the front bed (dinette in the down [bed] position. Then we surround them with pillows or blankets.

We use plastic hangers that keep things from bouncing off the rear wardrobe rod. The hangers kind of clip on to the rod, rather than just hanging there, but are still easy to get off when needed. Found them at a local camping supply store, but this item at Camping World looks the same:

Storage Tip
 

I found the outside storage in front of the rear bumper is hard to get into when the top is lowered & little small. I store leveling blocks/wheel chaulks and need to get to this area as soon as I get to the campsite. First I fabircated a double door set up on top of the frame,I can open the first door(hindged on the bumper with pop rivets) when the top is lowered.Then I fabircated a sheetmetal tray/box ( in place of the org. plywood) 7inches deep but offseted around the crank down jacks.I made these out of 24 ga. white painted GSM (material used on metal roofs).1997 hi-lo 21 towlite

Any suggestions on putting locks on this bin?

you can use a locking hasp installed with stainless steel pop rivets or stove bolts.a cam lock with the same key # as your other outside doors(fresh water fill door).you might have to modify the locking arm by bending it in a vise using a hammer. the catch/strike plate may have to be made out of 90 degree angle stock attached to inside of the frame/bumper using stainless steel pop rivets. speaking of cam locks is there a source for reasonably priced cam locks that aren't the universal 751HC keys? I need at least 3 I'm liking the idea for the rear compartment by the way

Look at homedepot.com search/cam lock , it shows close-up pictures of keys with numbers on them GOOD PRICES. Les

yeah I found those while searching the web. Will have to travel to one and check them out. Would like to have them all keyed alike if I can find them.
