Arthritis in back

DW has a problem with arthritis and she does not like to travel very far with causing pain in her back. I tow 27 ft hi-lo with Dodge Dakota SLX truck rides very well and does a great job pulling dont even know its back there. Does anyone else have problems with artheritis if so do you have suggestions that might make traveling a bit more comfortable. I would appreciate your input. Im retiring and looking to travel to every state park in america..

Would a lumbar support pad help?

This is Donna, Franks GF and retired RN. I too have this problem. Lumbar support, ASK her Physician if she can wear an abdominal binder and perhaps a soft cervical collar just for traveling. Definitely memory foam to sit on. It's the bumps and jolts that later cause muscle spasms. Perhaps her Physician would give her muscle relaxers for after the ride.

This is far from an inexpensive solution, but if your finances allow, you might look into Recaro Orthoped seats (https://www.recaro-automotive.com/us...ecaro-orthoped)

I've had Recaros in three cars over the years, and they're amazingly comfortable, especially for long hours on the road - I'm prone to lower back pain, and have done more than one 12 hour, multi-state stretch with no resulting discomfort. To at least some extent, the cost can be offset by moving the seat(s) to another vehicle when & if you replace your Dakota - seat track adapters are available for a wide range of vehicles.
