Clearance

Does anyone know how much clearance there is between upper cabinets and counter top when camper is in the down position?
Husband put extra insulation on the ceiling which will decrease height by almost 1".

There's certainly more than 1" clearance in my trailer. But, you can check this easily enough. Just lower the top. It should stop lowering as soon as you release the lowering switch, so you can stop it in any intermediate position. Check that it works this way and then, just keep lowering until you get close to the bottom - I think your top rests on "outriggers" when it is fully down. You should be able to tell if you will have clearance in the fully lowered position without breaking anything.

Lowering clearance

Do as Jack suggested. It should be fine with enough clearance. You should always slowly lower the HiLo and be prepared to stop if anything is in the way. Curtains, blinds, objects on counters or stove top. We have all been caught with something out of place when lowering.

Take notice of any under cabinet lights when you lower the top for the first time.

Your right Sam! Getting the trailer ready for our 1st trip. I was in a hurry, did not do a walk around, and lowered the top down on the water heater access door on the front of the trailer. Just installed a replacement door last night. We are heading out to San Diego in the morning. Our 2nd trip is to the Grand Canyon North Rim. Thank you for your help Jack on the campground info.
We have a great group here. Terry and Laurie

Hi Terry & Laurie,

Just got back last night from San Diego myself (not camping) and getting ready to head out on our first trip of the season on Monday. We are planning a trip to North Rim as well (probably next year) so please post your experiences and photos when you return!

Thanks,
