These eagle vision mirrors may be a copy of McKesh mirrors, They may work. I read alot of reviews on these and people praise these but only if you get the opitional round convex mirror. A couple of points I was thinking about, The way it clips on the top door wouldn't it damage the outside plastic window trim, scratch the paint, scratch the window(i do like the option of rolling down the window while driving) How stable is this thing with the window down. With this clip on mirror, there's no break-away pivot point so if gets hit it would cause more damage than good. Les

You've got a point there Les. They kind of look like the mirrors you used to be able to rent years ago from U-haul. I am going to call them tomorrow and get some more information. Being we are heading out to the West Coast, around the 12th of April, I want to be ready as soon as possible.

We ordered the McKesh mirrors yesterday. We hope to use them during spring break when we head to the coast. Will report how they perform and if there's anything close to paint chipping, etc.
We had been using inexpensive strap-on mirrors purchased from Camping World. They worked okay, but you really couldn't see the back of the trailer very well. My/our philosophy is "you can't scrimp or put a price tag on safety."

FYI. I just called Camping World and asked about the mirrors they sold,that look like the McKesh ones and the young lady there, who really didn't seem to know a lot about them, said she would not put them on her vehiccle as she said she could not see how they wouldn't scratch. I thanked her for her honesty and will call Hensley tomorrow.

I really haven't heard any good information on them. As a matter of fact, I talked to the people an Hensely today about the McKesh mirrors and I will be ordering them tomorrow.

Les. I talked to the people at hensely today and I am going to order a set of the McKesh mirrors tomorrow. They have a 6' x 8" mirror on them. The frame is metal and the mirror housing is plastic. The guy I spoke to uses them personally on his GMC and says he really likes them. They ought to be nice for $130.00 a pair

Just ordered the McKesh this weekend and they shipped today. Paid the 130 plus ordered the convex as well. Heard that they really come in handy. Also learned after the fact that it pays to order an extra set of pads for the arms, just in case one comes off on while on a trip. I'm just going to wait and see the mirrors and judge whether that might be a problem or whether something else can be substituted. Right now I've been using the cheap strap-ons but they really don't provide a good view while travelling. I've heard nothing but good reviews on the McKesh.

Is the reason for such good reviews on Mckesh mirrors is that it's the only good option for the tacoma truck? If there is anyone using them at this time, how stable are they at freeway speeds with the window down fully? I just want to keep full operation of my windows.

Received my mirrors from Hensley today and I was impressed by the quality. They are solid and installed, they'll withstand all freeway speeds without a problem. They're easy to install and remove, they have quality pads to protect the finish, and are fairly simple to put together with one exception. The instructions sheet should have had a couple photos rather than just referencing part numbers. Had to rely on the picture on the box to verify whether or not I had things accurate. I'll try to get a couple pictures.

How about window operation? Also, looks like you have to fold your stock mirrors in?

I used mirrors like the ones Frank installed when I was towing with a Nissan Frontier. They worked fine, but there's a few "caveats":

1. If it rains, check and probably tighten the straps. If they are nylon (mine were) they stretch when wet.
2. I put clear plastic tape on the doors under the point where the pads sit. If the pads move at all while driving (and they will), and there is any dirt underneath (there will be), you will get scuff marks on your door if it is not protected. Loose straps will increase the rubbing tendency. I simply left the plastic tape in place when I was not towing - it hardly showed up. When I sold the truck, I peeled the tape off and the paint was perfect.
3. My mirror instructions cautioned against rolling the windows up and down with the mirrors attached. In my case, the clamps touched the outside surface of the widows slightly, but there was no damage caused by the few times I moved the windows.

Thanks, Jack. I haven't used the mirrors for towing or beyond installation so I'll know more after our next outing. I just folded the mirror in for the picture. I guess you could keep it in for towing purposes if you wanted to.

It is a green 98 TRD, sound familiar? Gets better, Hi-LO is a 22 ft classic. The photo of your set-up could pass as my own.
