What brands and types of extension mirrors are you using for towing?

I am using CIPA mirrors on my 2500HD GMC. They snap on to the existing mirrors. You can check these out. https://www.safetowingstore.com/Produ...ductCode=70007

I am still looking for some. While my wife and I were camping in Kentucky this past fall, we went into a RV shop in Cadiz,KY and they had what looked great but would have to order them for my Tacoma. I am going to check with a local RV dealer here and see what they have. I'll let you know what I find.

I have looked extensively for mirrors made to fit the Tacoma and so far I have had no luck. The manufacturers don't appear to make anything for imports. I have the mirrors that mount to the truck's mirrors with rubber straps. They are okay but they need to stick out a bit further to see around the Hi-Lo. I wish that telescoping mirrors would be made for the Tacoma and would be offered as part of the towing package.

I hear ya.I just called my local RV dealer and he said, as far as he knew, there were none available. Guess that I'll just have to stick with my strap ons that I currently have. Maybe,I'll try to modify them a little to stick out a little further.

I hope we are still discussing mirrors? :confused:

I have a 2006 toyota tacoma, right now I'm using strap-on mirrors. I'm very unhappy with them, I wish there was something better on the U.S. market!

I found some! I seached caravan (R.V. in Europe) mirrors.
Check out ; ORAmirror.com model : Rossa (with a support arm so they don't vibrate in the wind). They are a bit pricey, but I guest you get what you pay for. I wanted to get some opinions before I fork out that much money.

Anyone see them?

I am seriously thinking of ordering a pair of CIPA 11960 Premium Universal Towing Mirrors for my Nissan Frontier, they are available from Amazon for $25.00 each with free shipping Amazon.com. Are any of you familiar with these in actual use?

I used them on my Ford F250 and let me tell you, they are a complete waste of money. They vibrated while in use, they were difficult to get adjusted and due to their design, they would eventually move in the wind and have to be re-adjusted. The mirror face is quite small and it was hard to see anything in them. I used them for one trip then threw them away. I didn't want to even give them away they are that bad of a design.

I moved to a model made by CIPA that slides over the existing mirror. They wern't much better but they were usable.

Ditto on these strap-on mirrors, I had to strap them on so tight to keep them from moving it deformed the plastic mirror housing. Cipa don't make the slide on style for tacoma's. I need to find a U.S. supplier for the Rossa mirror at oraproducts.com.au

Were they the CIPA style I illustrated in the previous post or the CIPA strap-on one's illustrated below? I have been using some similar to the ones illustrated below, which I purchased at KRAGEN and they have the problems you mentioned. They slip off and it is impossible to get them really securely attached to the OEM mirrors. Please clarify!

Believe I wrote of these, and gave a more extensive description, once before. I've tried a lot of different mirrors over the years, but for the past four I've been using Tow-N-See mirrors, made by Horst Dynamics, Inc. I really like them! One of the customer reviews at Amazon is highly critical and talks about the mirrors bouncing around excessively. I wonder if that reviewer had some mount issues with the vehicle mirror. I use these on a 2007 Suburban, attaching them to the standard power mirrors that came with the vehicle, and I've never experienced excessive vibration. In fact, these are the most stable and secure mirrors I've had since the old tripod fender mount mirrors of an earlier era. They are WAY more stable than any of the many strap-on mirrors I've tried over the years.

I used the 11960 Premium Universal Towing Mirrors and they were junk. They use plastic clips that thin straps run through. The clips grab onto the lip of the mirror shell and you rotate the knob to tighten up the mirror. I ended up breaking one clip the first time I tightened them as they wouldn't get tight enough to feel secure.

I got it everyones mirror problems solved,, go to your local Walmart in the ladies area where they have those makeup hand held mirrors and grab a couple and tape them on. LOL (only if you are a redneck)

...or if your wife uses your side view mirrors to put her make up on, and while doing so, you back your truck up to hook up to your Hi-Lo and your wife gets lipstick on her one tooth,you might be a redneck. Here's your sign.
