Front down, rear up, stuck... Any ideas?

Supposed to be leaving in the morning, raised it up earlier in the day and lowered it just fine. Pulled it out and it raised fine but would not drop in the rear. the front also will not raise back up.

Okay for those that would like to learn from my mistake...

One of the doors in the bathroom came open, the clip that holds it closed failed to do its job. I squeezed it a bit and now it holds better.

It was also hidden behind the shower curtain, that is why I didn't see it when it first happened. I called in an extra pairs of eyes and my dad spotted the problem.

Also to get the front to lift up I never in a million years would have guessed this would have worked. My dad lifted on the front while I hit the button and off it went to the top...

My wife was ready to go buy a new trailer tomorrow... :D

I hope this helps someone in the future.

Ouch!! You experienced one of my greatest fears. I'm glad you were able to get it down. It may be a good idea to check the cables and pulleys to make sure nothing jumped off the track.

Good thinking, Rich. I would be concerned with the guide blocks getting busted up. Once the "tabs" that hold the block to the guide rail wear out or get broken off, it can create bad alignment while raising and lowering. Just a thought........

Well, you are probably gone by now but I don't understand what you mean about the bath door was open. It makes no difference in either of my trailers?
As Bob said I would check the glide blocks for possible being broken, as that was a lot of tilt.

Our 2310H has small cupboards on the bathroom back wall that could cause a problem if not closed.

having the bathroom door open or closed does not effect the unit from lowering, i crawled in mine when down and checked, it swings free.

Yes, my 2209T has the cupboards also and that would cause a problem if left open.

This is pretty clearly a potential problem in certain, but not all, trailer models.

It would not happen in my 1707T model, but there IS the potential of destroying the TV/DVD screen if it is left down when closing, and, as I recall, if the kitchen faucet is not over the sink, it might contact the upper cabinet when lowering.

And, I've found that the shower curtains can "catch" on the toilet flush handle (and tear) when raising the top unless they are moved so that they don't touch that device when the top is lowered.

Bottom line to any new owner - do a thorough survey inside (and out) to see what might interfere with proper operation.
