Hello From Idaho

New Hi Lo owners here from Eastern Idaho. We are picking up our new to us 1985 Hi Lo this weekend from some great family friends. I believe we will be the 3rd owner of this trailer that has been stored indoors since 1985. Looking forward to gaining lots of knowledge from this forum in the future. Pictures will be posted when we get back from our trip to pick up the Hi Lo.
Thanks
The K's

New trailer

Welcome to the forum. I hope your trip is uneventful. The tires may be old and need to be replaced. Do all your preventive maintenance. Ask any questions as we are here to help you get the most fun out of your HiLo.!!

Thanks Sam

She made the 850 mile trip back home without any hiccups at all. Couldn't believe how well it towed behind my '05 Sierra with the 5.3L. Incredibly my truck was able to achieve 16mpg on the way home.
The entire trailer is in great shape and the tires were replaced about one year ago.
We couldn't be happier and are anxious to get out camping.

Welcome Idahovandal!,
Sound like you got a real gem there. I'm sure you'll love your new(old) rig. How 'bout some pics? What size/model? Does it have the original rust colored interior? I'm glad they outgrew that! I redid my '84 in a teal southwest pattern that is a LOT more pleasing to my eye. Whatever the color, I'm sure your are going to love it. Everbody on here does. The folks on here are very helpful. If you have any problems, just ask! Somebody will know. Also, the guys in Ohio are an excellent souce of info and parts. CAMP ON!

Bringing your preloved preenjoyed HiLo home.

Glad to hear you had an uneventful trip home. Take some time to read through back posts on preventive maintenance. Older trailers need to have the windows taken out. Reinstall with butyl tape and Lexel caulk found at Ace hardwear or on line. Better reseal matrials are now available. This is a job you can do at home. It just takes a few hrs . of your time. If you don't do this water can get in and trash your entire trailer, full wall rebuild. Be sure to lube your cables and all moving parts on the trailer.

I am planning on going through everything and putting some fresh seals on teh windows. Thanks for the information; I appreciate everything.

The model is a 2185 and everything appears to be original and everything works great. In the pictures you will find my 4.5 year old daughter who is very excited to go camping in the new trailer.

Looking forward to interacting with everyone on here. Everyone seems to be great.

I don't have a clue as to what model it is other than a 21'. Probably a funmaker or funchaser. I have searched posts on how to find this and come up empty except the layout? If anyone has any info that would be great.

Thanks

Pictures of the HiLo

Your unit does look "spanking brand new" It was well preserved being stored in the barn. Hurry up and take your adorable daughter camping!! Memories she won't forget. Take lots of pictures. If you have to store the unit outside put a good coat of wax on it and invest in a breathable RV cover for storage.

Hello fellow Idahoans!

K's
Welcome to the HTF and congrats on your new Hi-Lo! Finally...another Idahoan with a Hi-Lo, and a Vandal too. YEAH! We're both UI Alumni, living in the Boise area. Where in Eastern Idaho are you?
Jim

Jim

Awesome to meet you on here. We are in Idaho Falls. My wife and I grew up in Caldwell. I am a Wildlife Resources major from UI. Currently working for the State. Do you get to the central/east part of the state to do much camping? Maybe our paths will cross sometime.
Go Vandals!

Idaho Vandal,
When I can get my fingers on a real keyboard (instead of my iPhone), I'll send you a PM with contact info. I'd be happy to help you with any questions you may have regarding your Hi-Lo. Been pulling them for a long time!
We do like to camp in the central part of the state, many great spots north of Ketchum and on down the Salmon River. You should check out Challis Hot Springs.
We've also camped up in Island Park. Lots of great camping in central and east Idaho!
My better half was born/raised in Salmon and her dad in Idaho Falls, so we're familiar with your area. Her whole family are UI Alums.
Jim
