Hi-Lo of the future!

:)Here's something new. You mike call this Hi-Lo Version 2.0. It's nice to see that the concept of the Hi-Lo is getting its proper recognition in this modern age.

Here's the link: https://lightshiprv.com/

I moved your post to its own thread because I thought it would get better visibility here, rather than in someone else's thread in the "Wanted" section.

That's a pretty trailer and I too am glad that the concept of HiLo for towing has not been forgotten. I'm looking forward to seeing more details about it - especially the floor plan(s) and how the lifting mechanism works. Looks to me like the top is a single molded piece, which would stop the leak problems that many members have had. I suspect it will be expensive, looking at the number of solar panels and other exterior features.

A bit pricey

The website indicates that you can preorder with only a $500 deposit. The selling price that they are starting with is $125,000.
It's only money, you know.

Wouldn't like

I hate all electric recreational vehicles. I love my propane water heater, furnice and oven with stove burners. The price point is steep.

Self powered

Well it is an electric vehicle too. It runs along on battery power to keep up with the tow vehicle. We'll see how that works out.

lightship joke

This Lightship RV has to be the dumbest I have seen. Says sleeps 6 = where ? all in 1 bed. I don't think that will work. Then powered to push = Huh what controls it. Now you got a push behind you and try stop on a wet road. Next why the mirror to flip out in the bathroom? So everybody can see you on the hopper or in the shower. Only thing good about it is it raises up and down. Oh yes and that real big ( oops) small cooler they call a refrigerator. what a joke.

Don't like it. Too many windows. One big bed, no. Maybe if they redesign it and have other floor plans, but at the price. Might as well stay at 5 star hotels when traveling.

Saving money in an RV?

Cheaper to stay in a motel or hotel? Hey, who saves money owning an RV? There is a lot more to gain in the experience than saving money. If you want to save money just sleep in your truck!

Guessing this is still in the "concept" stage - wonder if there's an operational prototype, or if the video on their web site is computer generated?

Will be interesting to see how it develops into a production unit & whether they're able to keep the as-delivered price anywhere near the prices quoted. Definitely expensive, but so are electric trucks

Most likely the trailer's on-board propulsion is intended to be coupled to the tow vehicle's propulsion & braking management systems - assuming that's the case, it should make the system's operation seamless, probably including ABS, traction control & regenerative braking on the trailer. That full-roof solar array's controller could probably be configured to provide both tow unit & trailer charging, which would be a significant range extender for electric tow vehicles.

Wouldn't be surprised if the intent is to make all that window area from electrochomic glass that can be darkened or made opaque by applying an electric current - sure would be easier than dealing with accordion shades.

Looking at the price...$151K for the one with drive motors....OUCH...looks pretty small for sleeping....Not seeing how they are saying sleeps 4-6...
