Hi-Lo Sleep Capacity
 

I would suggest that Hi-Lo look into more innovative ways to sleep more people in their units.

It would certainly make their units more desirable to younger, growing families that otherwise go to TrailManor or hard-sided trailer.

Hi-Lo has never sold a unit that could sleep more than 6 (uncomfortably)...even the 30 ft ones.

I see that as a large complaint.

I agree. My husband and I just purchased a 2007 28C and love love love it. It solved all our previous problems with our pop-up tent trailer, but, we can only sleep 4 comfortably and have a family of 6! 3 of our kids are teenagers! Because of the fold down table and wood chairs we are thinking a blow up matress in the floor would work, but I would love to convert the table area to a banket like we had in our pop. If we had a couple of padded benches with storage underneth, and it would convert to a bed at night it would be perfect!:D:D

It's funny that you mention that. My wife moved from our Apache pop-up to our current '94 Hi Lo, and we can still only sleep 6.

The pop-up could be pulled with a bicycle! BUT - we've definitely stepped up. The Hi Lo is far and away a nicer camper - with some concessions, like weight.

Worth it for us, though...

Add an roof loft to the sleeping area..

Hi Ginger. We also have the consideration of the sleeping quarters. We have had our 2208T for about a year but out two kids fit nicely in the converted table area but they are obviously growing so we are looking for a 28 model now.

I saw some 24 models that had an overhead sleeping quarter loft but was worried that our four year old may fall out somehow.

Seems like your family made a great decision and we hope to do the same soon.

Your 2208T also had the option of an overhead bunk or Cabinets, yours must have the cabinets.

We travel a lot with another couple or grandkids. With a simple attachment to the couch we use a queensize blowup aero bed, works great. We also use a double aero bed if queen not needed. Use the thin model aero beds.

Get creative. The upper swing down bunk has a weight limit of 200lbs if my memory serves me correctly. You can slide a folding bed rail in to keep the kids from rolling out of the bed. We have brought our very good EMS mountain tent along for extra guests. We once had a 12yr. old neighbor child along. She slept in the aisle way on a air mattress. We had a challenge not to step on her on the way to the BR in the middle of the night. Where their is a will their is a way.

When my daughters were young they slept in the loft of a mini-motorhome that we had at the time. To keep them from falling I made a lee cloth, as used on sailboat bunks, similar to this: https://www.defender.com/images/100426.jpg.

We have a bed rail that worked well for our granddaughter when she was younger. It has forks like a forklift that slide under the edge of the mattress and sticks up about twelve inches. Amazon and Walmart sell various versions of them.
