How do you remove end caps?

I am thinking of doing some roof work on my Hi-Lo. It has the rubber roof, which I understand is somewhat unusual. In order to remove and replace the rubber roofing, I need to remove the end caps. How are they held on? I appears I need to simply remove the "molding" from around the caps.... but does it simply pry off? This is on a 1989 Hi-Lo, and the molding is very stiff. I don't want to start prying it off before first finding out if I can get a new one.

Here's a couple of pics of the molding that I am talking about. Looking at it from below, it appears that the end is simply screwed down. Do I remove the screw and start pulling?

Looks similar to molding on my pickup topper. If I am right, remove the screw on the bottom then pull the plastic loosefrom the molding and there should be screws holding the molding to the camper. Good Luck

You'll also need a utility knife and a couple of blades to cut the caulking and sealants loose. Once you have the screws taken out of the moulding the caulking is going to be a bugger. I use a stiff 3" putty knife when I do these types of things. You can get the corner of the knife under the putty and kinda scrape along at a 45 degree angle to cut it loose. The utility knife will start it but it will be hard to get under the moulding with it.
Once you have it apart, don't forget to clean the old caulking from all surfaces before reinstallation.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the help. Is the plastic molding that needs to be pulled off something generic that you can buy .... or is it specific to Hi-Lo? Do you know? I want to make sure I have the parts necessary to put it back together before I start pulling it apart.

If you can't salvage them check this out:
Gags Camper Way - MOLDING AND VINYL INSERT

It's a start, you can check with the manufacturers.
Try JR Repair as well.

This type of molding is available at many places locally, auto parts store, body shops, enclosed utility trailer sales, pickup cap sales and RV sales companys. You buy it according to the width of the channel it goes in and comes in quite a few different colors. Easy to put in.
