hubcaps

The plastic hubcaps that I got with my hi-lo have gone away.(good)
13" wheels
I would like to buy old metal caps.
Will just any old hcap work, is there something I need to look for.
Are caps for ford, dodge, vw different than chevy wheels.
Don't want to buy and have more junk in my garage that won't work for my application.

this is a long shot!

Not a lot out there specifically for trailers and standard aftermarket ones for cars all seem to be plastic. How'bout some of THESE ? Maybe with some rattle-can gloss black on the wheels?

hubcap replacement

FYI: Go to hubcaps.com. They have all kinds of hubcaps and wheelcovers. I had a Aristcrat Lo-Liner that needed some. 13" wheels. I bought the full wheel covers (brushed aluminum) for a 72 Ford Pinto. Fit great, looked fantastic. Best part is it has no Manufacturer or Model reference on them at all. Looked OEM to the trailer. Check it out.

I had done just as mststeve has suggested.
I purchased one from a 1971-1978 ford pinto, nos, and beautiful.
It fit very well, but will need some manicuring around the valve stem hole.
I now have 4 more coming to finish. Total cost for all 5 is under $80, and have good stainless covers.

They should arrive tomorrow.

I will post pics when complete.

hubcaps

Take your old cap off and using a caliper measure the part that goes into the wheel hub or just take it to your local auto parts place and have someone match it to a same size metal cap. buy one for each hub on your trailer and your in business.
