Is dexron 6 fluid okay?

My local Walmart has dexron 6 ATF. Is that okay for filling the hydraulic pump reservoir?

Right out of the owners manual: Use only type A or DEXRON II automatic transmission fluid. Be sure it is clean and
avoid over filling. I'd run a Google search and find out what the differences are. I've always heard that you can go up in number but never down. Type A Dexron II was used in GM products.
