Need help lowering our camper
Our children use our camper at a campgrounds 200 miles from us. They do not have a truck to tow it. The campgrounds moves it for them. So the battery seems to not be recharging from shore power. We have solar panel.
Big problem right now is we can not lower the camper. I'm going to have to call in a mobile repair man if we can not help the camp ground owner get it down. ASAP. Cheri |

Hi Cheri, Two things come to mind: Do they know and understand how the 3-WAY SWITCH and safety catch works? IE: 1. Have they tried to raise it WITH THE 3-WAY SWITCH in the correct position and pull the cable release for the safety catch and then lowering? If that fails >>> Step 2. 2. Have them try to jump the battery being careful to hook-up jumper cables Pos to Pos and Neg to Neg. Good luck! Bob |

If your kids are able, should hook up jumper-Cables to charge battery for 20 minutes with the TOW VEHICLE ENGINE RUNNING, then they'll have enough juice to raise and lower top a few times. As you know, to let the roof down, you usually have to lift it up roof slightly off the safety ya know, then let it down. SO, if they are ready to just get home, have them MAKE SURE TO shut EVERYTHING OFF, hook tow vehicle with jumpercables to camper battery and charge it for a little while. It could be bad battery, or could be your inverter has something wrong & not charging battery. I posted more in your other question thread. Good luck. |
