New guy here!
 

Hi new here. I have a 1989 FunLite 19' my wife and I bought a year and a half ago. It is my first RV. We pull it with her 2005 Ford Explorer. I would also like to get my 99 Dakota hitched up to pull it. I worked on dewinterizing it today and my bathroom faucet has a leak underneath it:(. I hope to learn a lot about Hi Lo's on this forum and look forward to chatting with you.

Easiest fix is probably a new faucet. It may also be a cone washer (available at Camping World).

Leaking at bathroom sink
 

Where is the leak? Is it at the faucet? or is it at the plumbing in the vanity? Here is what hubby told me. Have a 90 25ft Classic. He can't think what the older grey tubing is called. The chlorine in the water attacks the tubing. He talked about this tubing being recalled. ould be a problem in the older units due to infrequent use. If you are handy the faucet or plumbing in the vanity can be taken apart. It is possible to get faucet parts. Hubby says these plumbing parts can only be bought from an RV place. Thinks the grey tubing is ABS plastic. Since you have a leak it may give you peace of mind to modernize with new faucet/vanity plumbing. We don't shower in our trailer and had an issue with bumping the bath tube faucits and turning the water on soaking what was on the bath tub shelf. One campout our service manager from the dealership spent the weekend with us. He called each HiLo owner ahead of time to see if we had any problems/questions. Many people got problems solved and questions answered..He confirmed that our water pump was shot. Bought another one and hubby replaced. Also sold us a plastic compression fitting that hubby iinstalled under the trailer that shut off the water to the trailer. No more accidental bath tub water. Our HiLo dealership assured us they will still be able to get parts to repair our HiLo. We had a blast and want our service advisor at our anual campout. This is truly a best practice that many Rv dealerships could and should do!!!! Clarification-only shut off water to the bath tub. Hope this helps you. Sam

Thanks for the feedback. Yes the tubing is gray so I will look into that. I believe the leak is coming from the faucet underneath the vanity. I hope I can get into fix it. These bathrooms are small and I am not.:D Will work on it this weekend. We have Camping World and other places with RV parts in town. Not sure we have a HiLo dealer anymore. I knew of one like 20+ years ago but I was a kid then. Never thought I would own one. My dad and I used to look at RV's a lot. I remember going to the HiLo dealer with him and looking at trailers. I asked him if we would ever get one. He told me not to get my hopes up. He's glad that I have one. He has a 1976 Sportscoach motorhome. It is too short for me inside standing up and on the beds.

Faucet repair
 

I'm a big mama myself so I can relate. My hubby is average size so he gets the job of squeezing into tight spaces. Hopefully Rv places will be open for you on this holiday weekend. Call ahead. Hopefully ,I will get over to our HiLo to get some pictures. This is on our long list of things to do. Sam

Welcome to the forum. You have not said for sure that the leak is in the faucet or could it be in the sink drain. We took our HI-LO out for the first trip this season ( 4 nites) and had a leak under the sink.Turned out the slip joint between the sink drain tail piece and the trap had slipped apart. You could not see the gap and only a small amt of water was leaking when the water was draining. The trap had been glued into the drain so there was tension pulling the slip joint apart. I will replace the tail piece with a longer one so there is pressure pushing the joint together. If it is the faucet, best to replace it.

It turns out the hose going to the valve was loose so I tightened it and the leaking stopped. Glad it was simple. I only tend to work on it on weekends. That is why I am sometimes long in responding. Thank you all for your feedback.

sink leak
 

Glad your sink leak was a simple fix. One time on our first trip out for the season I had a leak under the kitchen sink. Hubby went to take our daughter to her horseback riding lesson. I screwed the trap ect back together and tightened it some more. It had come loose because we are shoving things under the sink. Always good to cary tools and teflon tape ect. with you.
