New Member with a New Old Hi-Lo
Hi Everyone,
Second post here. I just bought a 96 FunChaser 24L for a Dollar from the For Sale section here. Bought it from a very nice gentleman who had the chance to sell it for a lot more, but held up his end of the bargain that we had made. My hat is off to you Tom, I think a lot of other people would have sold it out from under me, and I can't say that I would have blamed them. Now a little bit about the camper. The ceiling is going to need to be replaced, that's a given. Most of the walls seem to be solid, but since I'm doing a complete remodel they're going to be replaced with new paneling to make sure. I don't know if the AC or the HWH work won't know about them till spring, but the brakes, furnace, stove, oven, refrigerator, lift pump, lights, and water pump works, Awning is in good shape just needs a little cleaning. Stove, Oven, Refrigerator look like brand new. Cushions and Sofa all in good shape just need cleaning. Floor is solid with no water stains or soft spots. Pulled great with our 06 Tundra with the WDH hooked up. I guess that's about it for now, going to cover it for our Pennsylvania winter and start tearing into it in the spring. 96 Fun Chaser
Congratulations on your Pre loved Pre enjoyed 96 Funchaser. It is a good idea to cover the trailer to prevent further dammage. Don't forget to winterize it with RV antifreeze to protect from dammage. I am currently restoring my 90 Classic. See my posts and pictures under off topic 90 Classic restoration. We didn't have to replace our rubber roof or I would have probably sold it for parts. You don't want to rip out any walls unless you have to(water dammage). The walls are laminated at the factory. It is impossible for you to do this as a do it yourself project. If you feel like taking a road trip I would be glad to show you our restoration in progress. Yesterday Hubby had a chance to scrape all the caulk off the Hitchside end cap and reapply lexell Caulk. Today we are hoping to take out a window above the Kitchen sink and reseal. I am in Niagara Falls NY. Send a personal message if you would like to see our HiLo. Welcome to the forum.
