Question No title or Vin what should I do

Just picked up a1976 Hi Lo. for $300. The good news is everything works, Raises lowers, All plumbing and electrical are in order, tanks are holding, new tires, etc,.

The bad news, The guy I bought it from said that the guy HE bought it from lost the title. Also there is no VIN number anywhere. Is there any way I can still tow this legally? or get it registered without a title or VIN? I'm in AZ. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Alan

On my 1985 it was on the passenger side tongue lateral to the pump /box.
It was covered by many coats of paint. Do not scrape the paint off!!!!
use goof-off and rub off the paint. Mine was a metal stick on tag and would have destructed with scrapper.

If not there you will have to ask the az dmv for registering.

good find!

Smile No title

Contact Az DMV for procedure. Notarized Bill of Sale may work. If it was ever tagged by Previous-Previous owner a Replacement title can Always be gotten. If never tagged-very fishy!!!!! Joe

Many states have a procedure to follow in a case like this. If the vehicle does not have a VIN anywhere a number is often assigned and a tag is affixed to the vehicle.

Many states allow you to post a bond in order to register a vehicle like this. Somewhat the same way to register a homemade trailer.
