Default Roof on 2004 Hi Lo model 22T

Would anyone happen to know what roof I have on my 2004 Hi Lo, model 22T? I can't tell if it is rubber or fiberglass or something else?

Also, any recommendations on what I can use to re-seal it. I went to a RV place and the service department wants to much money to reseal my roof. Fortunately, I have no leaks. Just concerned about the age.

Thanks a lot

Ken

If the roof has a pebbly finish and has seams it is aluminum. If it is more smooth and is seamless it is rubber. There were a couple of model years that used rubber but they went back to metal. I don't think HiLo used fiberglass. For metal use Koolseal Elastomertic coating, for rubber use a product made specifically for rubber roofs. You can get Koolseal at True Value Hardware stores. Kool Seal White Elastomeric Roof Coating , 4.75 Gals.: Model# KS0063300-20 | True Value

There is a lot of discussion here on the subject. Use the search option above to look for roof coating, etc.

Default Recoating roof

Raiderboy...You are smart to do preventive maintenance on your roof. Wash the roof and let it dry. Tape off where to roof meets the side of the RV. This will give you a crisp paint line. Follow all the directions for the product you are using. This is easily a DIY job.

Thanks.... Just one more question, everyone. Can you walk on the roof? Not sure how I will be able to seal the roof without walking on it if you can't kneel on it. Any suggestions?

Ken, I walk on mine all the time (with the top down of course). I feel certain your trailer is new enough that you can walk on it also.

I recommend only in the lowered position. You can lay a piece of plywood across to dissipate your weight as well.
