Self inflicted pain
 

Hi,
In my haste I unintentionally created a disaster of my 12vdc system.
When I removed the original refrigerator I recklessly cut the wires without marking them. That was several months ago. When I got around to preparing for a camping trip I found that the 12v dc circuit had been disabled and without the 115v coming into the trailer nothing would power up including not being able to raise the trailer. Can anyone please help? I need to know how to connect the pictured wires inorder to restore 12v dc power.

Please tell us what year and model your trailer is and what model the fridge is. That way someone with a similar model can look to compare.

I am going to say none of those wires should be connected together, Everyone should be taped and prevented from touching each other. What has happened is the wires did touch each other and the circuit breakers in the battery box have tripped and some of the 12 volt fuses have blown. The blue wire is the + plus wire for the fridge, the white wire is the - negative or ground wire for the fridge, these 2 wires definitely should not touch each other, dead short. The red wire with the fuse, is not needed either, that was originally connected to the blue wire. Not sure what the yellow and black wire are for but yellow and black again should not be connected together. After taping the ends of all those wires, go to the battery box, look for small black rectangular plastic boxes, if they are the resettable kind there will be a small push button on the bottom side. Some reset automatically, this kind may have burned out because of the dead short from the wires being together, Lets first assume that this didn't happen. Reset the the manual kind also check the fuses in the fuse box and replace the blown ones. If you trailer has a master switch be sure it is in the right position also some of these have a fuse right behind where they are mounted. Tell use what you found and if you got anything working. A volt meter or test light would be very handy. Do you have 110 volt shore power?

Rich you are the Man! I simply reset the switch and taped off the wires and I back up and running.
Now if I could just figure out how to get the auto parking thing to work??

Those things usually come in the form of a wife, that always has bad advise. LOL But there is the exception, I have many times seen the guy get out and the wife got in and backed the trailer in perfectly.

Yeah during my time as a truck driver, I saw quite a few women back up to the dock and do a hell of a lot better job then most guys could/did.
