Service
Camper's Corner Knoxville has been very helpful with my service. They are having difficult time getting parts--can anyone suggest source. I may have to switch to Trailmanor, expecially from the weight factor

Buzz,
There are parts available on a limited basis from the factory. Take a look at this post. https://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f9/h...ry-direct-180/ Keep in mind that many, not all, of the parts for Hi-Lo are just standard off the shelf items. Neal |
Cables
Cables are the issue. Think I found some in Ohio. Callled factory got answering machine. Sad to see these old line companies go by the wayside.
Really feel Trailmanor has simpler lift mechanism and lighter weight. You all have a great day buzz |
Buzz,
I'm not clear about why cables are an issue. Do you need some for a repair, or just want to get a spare set (just in case) while they're still potentially available. Having a spare set is probably not necessary; with routine inspection and lubrication, correct operation, and common sense use (not storing your Hi-Lo, outside, in the raised position through snow season), the chance of a cable failure is REALLY small. Our 1969 Bon Voyage still uses the original cables, and I'm not noticing any significant wear. Frankly, I've always lived so far from from the factory (and even a dealer) that I've naturally come to look locally (and successfully) for parts support. Always thought that if a cable failed I'd either go to Home Depot, buy the cable, and make it up myself... or go to our local rigging supply outfit and have them make one. There is nothing unique about cable from the Hi-Lo factory. Regarding Trailmanor trailers, other than seeing them on the road, I don't know anything about them. This may be the wrong bulletin board for that kind of feedback. Jim |
Trail Manor
My wife's cousin bought a new Trail Manor last year and he made the remark this spring that he should have gotten the "mechanic option" with his.

Buzz,
I think I smell smoke.. lets not get a flame started. :) Lots of good campers out there, and everyone has their own opinion of what the best one is. Proof of that can be seen in the number of brands and models. So lets not start the 'whos best' arguement. If you do buy a Trailmanor, we'll still camp with you! Neal |
