Shower drain
 

I have a 1994 22' Classic. The shower drains very slowly. Under the trailer below the shower drain is a sheet metal cover. I cannot remove without cutting it with tin snipes as a couple of screws are above a holding tank. Is there a P-trap under the shower drain and under this cover? Do not want to remove if no P-trap as it would be hard to replace it. If so, is P-trap removable or is it glued in?

I'm pretty sure it has a P-trap, but I don't know if it is easy to replace.

You might try clearing any obstruction with one of those plastic strips that have barbs on each edge that are sold for the purpose of clearing drains. I got one of those for my home from Home Depot. They bend easily and should be able to navigate the curve of any P-trap, and, they can get past hair strainers, if one of those is in there.

There almost certainly has to be some for of trap in the shower drain or there would be some pretty bad odors coming out of there. Either use Jack's suggestion and/or pour in a little bit of Liquid Plumber. Some down the sink drain wouldn't hurt either. Liquid Plumber won't hurt the plumbing. Flush out the tank afterwards.

I believe something is in the drain from when manufactured as this was problem from the beginning when purchased new. Believe it or not this trailer has been kept indoors and only used 4 times since it was purchased new. This trailer is as new.

Have any friends with an inspection camera? Run that thru the drain and you can see what you are dealing with. Just a thought..................
